After Real Madrid’s 2‑1 defeat to Atletico Madrid, manager José Mourinho publicly blamed the officials, presenting printed screenshots that he said proved two missed red cards in the first half. The criticism sparked a sharp response from LaLiga president Javier Tebas, who took to social media to reject the notion of a systematic bias against the club.
“Claiming that referees are directed against Real Madrid is like living in another galaxy,” Tebas wrote, adding that such a story serves as an excuse to mask “other shortcomings that are plain to see in these first matches of the season” (source 1).
