The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) released a statement on behalf of his family, confirming he is "receiving specialist treatment" and that his relatives are "incredibly grateful for the care he is receiving" while requesting privacy during his recovery.
Graham, an Aston Villa academy product, made 17 appearances for Wolverhampton Wanderers between 2014 and 2020, scoring once, before moving on to Birmingham City where he featured 49 times in the Championship from 2021 to 2023. He also enjoyed loan spells at Ipswich Town, Bradford City, Oxford United and Fulham, bringing his career tally to 188 appearances across all competitions. After leaving Leyton Orient in the summer of 2025, he remains unattached to any club.
His former club Gillingham, where he spent 18 months after joining in January 2020 and recorded 46 league appearances with 12 goals, posted a message of support on X, wishing him a "full and swift recovery".
